Can anyone lone or sell me an alignment tool for a TKO clutch?? 26 spline and a shaft size of .665". I bought a GM 26 spline but the shaft is smaller.

Do you have a single disk clutch? I have a multipurpose alignment tool. It has a tappered slide to center the clutch (looks like a slide hammer) and interchangeable pilot bearing ends. Works well with single disk clutches. I could loan it too you or find out where I bought this one.

I took electrical tape and wrapped it around the shaft until it was the correct outside diameter. It may sound cheesy, but it worked perfectly. I have used it several times.

Default Pep Boys

Dwight,

Pep Boys ( if you have them where you live ) sells the universal clutch alignment tool for $20. It'll work great for single clutch disk set ups.

I have used the tape idea also and had sucess. I really have to be careful with my twin disk setup. If it is not just right it is a pain to get the tranny mounted. All of the tools seem to have some slop, etc.

Default alignment tool

I used the tape, but 'late' last night I tried to install my trannie but could not get it to go in the last inch to 1 & 1/2". I've learned not to forced it. I thought I mite be hitting the pilot bearing a little off center and did not want to damage it. I'll try again. And I may have to make a trip to Pep Boys. Thank for the infor. I thought I was a genius when I came up with the tape thing. Guess not! Oh well, it might work if I adjust the clutch plate a little or tap on the trannie a little.
