Default Does a BXR manifold on a 351W fit under a Cobra Hood?

Toivo, I'd seriously doubt whether the manifold would fit under an unmodified hood. The width of the manifold means that your hoodscoop would have to be REALLY wide.

I'd ask a few Mustang guys exactly what they think about BXR before spending a cent. It seems as though they're more suited as a conversation piece rather than a proven performance product. An expensive conversation piece at that......

Isn't a Cobra itself just an expensive conversation piece?

I was afraid of the width-under-narrow-scoop issue but wasn't sure as it seems to 'droop' a little. Supposedly it will fit where a stock intake will fit, but I wasn't sure if that applied only to production cars or to any car.

What have you heard performance-wise about the BXR other than "it doesn't do much". Does it actively HURT performance?
I've heard they have problems around the injectors, leaking due to bad machining.

Thanks

I've never had a BXR manifold, so this is all just rumour and speculation.......
Tim Ellis @ DynoTech detailed a comparison on his website about how bad the BXR was compared to a GT40 manifold. He had installation problems, machining problems, and it made less power and MUCH less torque than the GT40. BXR sued him and had his website shut down, claiming that the test was unfair. Tim Ellis was a well respected participant at www.corral.net with many people going to him for dyno work, turbo/blower installs, engine builds etc. He was unable to elaborate further on his problems with BXR, but you got the idea that they just didn't like bad publicity. Since then, I've seen a couple of dyno tests where the results certainly didn't justify the outlay. No, you won't LOSE power when compared to a stock manifold, but you'll be sacrificing potential power that you should get with a TFS/Holley/GT40/Edelbrock.
