Electric fan question

What should I be looking for in an electric fan? I notice the ads list cfm and amp draw numbers...what's good and what's bad?

The fan will be a pusher due to space limitations. My car runs cool until it sits at idle.

Since pushers aren't as efficient as pullers, I'd try to use at least a 14" diameter fan. As far as I can tell, Spal makes the best at a reasonable price.

I'd go for the highest cfm rating and not worry about the amps (use a relay for the fan).

I use the Derale 16" spiral fan. Just make sure you don't use those through the radiator ties to mount it. They will eventually cause your radiator to leak. This is assuming you have an aluminum radiator.

My engine runs at 180 without the fan. When I get into traffic or periods of long idle (tuning) I throw the fan on.
