Question Header and sidepipe coatings

Hey Guys, a little help from the gurus out there?

What is the difference between powder coating and ceramic coating?

What do most guys have done to their headers? What do most guys have done to their sidepipes?

Is powder more or less durable than ceramic? Is it more or less expensive?

Tony

Tony
I had my pipes ceramic coated. I understand that powder coating will not endure the high temperatures. Can't comment on cost comparison as I don't know what powder coating would cost, but the ceramic coating was $650 CAD (headers and sidepipes) if thats of any use to you.

About 60 miles east of Toronto, a little town called Port Hope.

The ceramic will tolerate the hight temps, the powder coater I talked to said powder coat will discolor in the 400* - 500* range.

I saw a kids motor that was powder coated white, but it turned pink after a few months.

Ceramic also acts as a heat barrier.

Mine were Jet-Hot brand and the headers look great, but the pipes were rusty in less than a year. They are re-doing them for me as long as I pay the shipping there.
