Well, it's hard to say if you're out of your mind or not 
I will say this- if you run the slicks on the street, and for whatever reason you get caught out in rain- those tires are like a deathwish!! 
No matter how slow you go, you'll be all over the place... just pretend you're on sheets of ice.
By the way, everyone in this thread seems sold on RKR, but I get mine at < http://www.sascosports.com/products/products.htm> great customer service and cheaper too!
I'd stick w/ the treaded ones and buy the slicks just for the track.
