Not Ranked
nodular rear 9" concern
Hi, I have a 70 eliminator 428 scj 3.91 4sp. I installed an auburn unit in place of the tired tracktion lock. I've never really payed much attention to the running temperature of a rear differential until now. It seems awfully warm after running 50-55 mph after 10 miles I stop and feel the punkin I can hold my hand on it but not for very long, seems to feel about the temp of my engine and trans is this normal? the exhaust goes out the back and mufflers and pipes aren't that close, I also should mention the rear performs well with no whine, I have about 300 miles on it now. I'm just a little worried about the heat, I used kendall 75W140 non synthetic and 1 bottle of addative, please advise thank you.
