if by "satin" you refer to out of the box as cast finish, it is pretty easy. Justa quick squirt of carb cleaner and a rag and fuel stains and such come right off.
If it has been bead blasted, it will never be clean again.
Polished is easy to clean, but you actually have to repolish it once in a while or it turns that dull "I don't care" look to it.
