Default Adding Hood scoop

Have a old NAF car with hood scoop. Want to make my hood look more like the original with rivets and new scoop. Have looked at Finish Lines hoods and wonder if anyone has done what I would like to do. Not sure how good or what scoop to use. Any help would be appreciated. I have some experience with fiberglass so that shouldn't be a problem. Know I will have to cut the old scoop out and repair before adding the new scoop. Will need some dimensions to locate the hole and scoop.

Hi,

I am currently doing the same thing on my Everett Morrison. The one problem that I ran into was that the hood scoop I bought from Finishline was not wide enough to give me the overlap necessary to rivet to my hood. I still have that hood scoop if you would like to have it. I also have the jpegs of the measurements that you would need to drill the hood scoop and front hood rivets. The hood scoop I got from finishline has been drilled according to the diagram. I ended up going with an aluminum one from Cobra Restorers that was used on the cars with weber carbs. It ended up being about 2" wider and worked great. Let me know if you want it and I will send it to you, and I am attaching the diagram for the dimensions.

Thanks

Chris

Don,
There is a guy named Fred Gimbel that lives in Fawn Grove, PA that builds hoods with scoops for any cobra out of aluminum. He will need your car for sizing and such, but he is a true craftsman.

Hi Chris

Tryed E mailing you but not sure if you got the E mail.

Yes, I would be interested in the hood scoop. Is it fiberglass or aluminum. What are you asking for it? Didn't get the attachment on the dimensions for the holes, or I just don't know how to get to it.

Don
Ps. sending attachment photo of my hood. This is the first time I tryed to send a attachment. Let me know if you get it.:-)

Don,

My email is cade600@cox.net. I will send you the attachments I have for the drawings of the hood and scoop, but I can't post them here because of the 40K kb maximum for pics. The hood scoop is fiberglass, and I will send it to you free of charge if you can use it. I purchased it some time ago and was unable to use it, so I would like to see someone try to utilize it. I also have pics of it as well. If you get an opportunity, post your e-mail address or send me a reply to the above address and I will send you all my pics asap. Hope to hear from you soon.

Chris
