Default FYI

I sent this to MT:

"I just noticed your Sportsman s/r tire and they may just be the ticket. I need a good handling sticky set of 15\" tires for my car. I am concerned that the 6654 may be a bit large (currently running Hoosier TD 245 and 275/60-15\'s) so I am thinking 6650 for the front and 6653 for the rear. But, my rims are 7.5 and 9.5. Recomendations?"

and received this:

"The Sportsman S/R is not designed to be soft compound handling tires like the Hoosier St TD you mention. Though they won't handle badly, they are more in line a tire that you can put on a rod and cruise with, while still getting decent tread wear."

I sent this:

Hi,

What is the UTOQ rating on the new S/R tires? Speed rating, Treadwear
rating? Some of us over at Clubcobra.com are trying to figure out if these
are suitable tires for shelby cobras. 15 inch street tires have been
ignored for some time now. Way to go.

And got this:

That information is not available yet as the tires have not been released
for production.

Keep in mind, the stickier the tread the more rocks get sent into the under side of your fenders! Everything comes at a price. Siping also is tough on Cobras for the same reason.

Siping: Those little cuts in a tire, in addition to the main tread channels, that love to catch rocks and hurl them at extraordinary velocities on various unpredictable trajectories.
