Is base coat clear coat that much of an advantage over single stage ? I've tried using the scanning gun and the paint code on the can .I've actually received three pint cans of product with the purchase of the first pint can. a less expensive grade came up gray then they gave me more white to dilute it. I added the white pigment, Better. Then they mixed and gave me a can of what I'd call cream.I did't really even try that batch of paint. Then I left my hood for examination and scanning and that ended up being a pint can of the better stuff,That paint seemed as gray as the first can of paint after I had mixed in the extra white.
So now I go to my local body shop that also has a Sherwin-William mixing bench.Problem is he only does base coat clear coat paint. Then I go to the Body shop that uses the Glasurit brand,They also only do the base coat clear coat paint. I understand formula 21 isn't around anymore I know they make 22 now, a single stage urithane accrylic paint . Wher can I get some?
