how about push lock fittings on fuel rails?

i know they'll hold the pressure and supposed to be useable to 300*, but in an engine compartment over time will they hold up?

somebody is making a killing on hose and fittings.

They leak like hell on street cars so no way would I consider using them.

The only reason these are around is to reduce assembly time at the plant and cost. Drawback is the lousy mechanical connection which causes the "o" rings to flatten.

Vector1. Having worked for Aeroquip in the past, I have seen push lock hose assemblies survive 2000 PSI in a burst cabinet. Ronbo's concern is valid in that most hoses are rated for a certain pressure and temp. Under the hood of a car, the temp will cause the hose to become brittle over time, and ultimately leak. Even thought the price looks good initially, the ultimate price is not worth taking the chance.

Think he was referring to the spring-lock connectors, not push on fittings for AN hose. (can't say I'm wild about those either)

Considering the very real fire hazard of a gas leak, there's no room for scrimping with second rate plumbing. Not to mention a sudden loss of oil from a popped cooler line.

vector1 They are for trans and oil ONLY. The o-rings in the fittings MAY NOT resist gas or the components of it, like alcohol it eats rubber. Again DON'T do it. Rick Lake

Lots of speculation.
Sounds like someone is in a BF hurry if these fittings are being considered....if you are considering slip/snap fittings instead of just snugging down threaded fittings properly, good luck. Check your leak source constantly.
