Crane has had such a stellar reputation over the past 35 years, I can't imagine any manufacturer being much better than those guys, whether it be cams, rockers, etc. The ultimate irony is, that in your search, you may find that the Ford rocker might be a private labeled Crane part.

For street motors, use the CompCams steel pro-magnum.

I'm using a pretty healthy size solid roller camshaft with valve springs that show 240lbs seat pressure. My engine builder fitted the Crane Golds (at my request), then replaced them due to the rockers deflecting around .030" He put some Crower Enduro rockers in place - problem solved! They're a little more expensive, but I've heard a lot of the Nascar guys use them without a problem.
They don't look anything special, but they seem to work...
Here's the first link I could find to them:

One of the guys in our area that sells Ford Motorsport says that they are the exact same rocker, they are powder coated a different color and then stamped with the proper stamp. If you are interested in the gold race I have some 1.6:1 7/16 stud. They were put on a engine that I was building but ended up having to replace the heads and valvetrain. They were on the heads and were attempted to turn the engine over but could not get it running, after that they were disassembled. I would sell them for 200. If your interested give me a call 517.546.5057
Thanks,
Todd

Street motor, not race motor. When assembling my 351, engine, the machinist posed the same question. The rocker arms should last the life of the engine, and not be considered a replacement item after a season or two. The Comp steel Pro-Magnums are forged steel.
When you pull the heads for a valve grind, and spring replacement, send the rockers back to Comp for a rebuild, and roll 'em for another 50 - 100k miles.
Cost wise, the Gold race are about $299/set. The Pro-magnums, about $259/set. (Summit/Jegs)

I highly recommend steel roller rockers (not just roller tipped). They won't wear out and actually weigh less at the valve. Aluminum rockers wear out in high lift, high rpm, high spring pressure applications; such as anything that really requires a roller rocker. I think that the ford's and the crane's are the same thing, or damn near enough to it.
