Default CWI jag rear cover breather

For Christams a couple of years ago, I asked for a polished finned alluminum jag rear end cover form CWI and the polished breather. Then the breathers were out of stock. I waited for CWI to resupply and called. Since CWI has said I'm on my own and settle for original brearther form old original cover. Where can I get an appropriate looking breather for my new ( still new ) CWI polished finned alluminum Jag rear end cover? Or is a remote breather, located a little higher, a better way to go ? Suggestiones and or advise please.

Make sure that there is an oil deflector protecting the hole in the cover from direct splash, in addition to the breather. Some covers don't have one. Without it, you'll push a lot of oil out.

Default Make your own with a high location spot

Michael C Henry Mike I have a LPW cover and had to make a remote setup for my car. Without the breather you are blowing out the seals. I tryed the stock one from Jag and under racing conditions I was blowing out oil from either the seals or the breather and getting the brakes wet( in boards ) I have a 90 degree brass fitting, SS line 2' long going to a small tank with a breather on top. The oil cools and goes back into the carrier. No problems. The combo of heat from the racing, engine and trans heat coming down the tunnel. The rear brakes cause the hot temps in the carrier. So far no problems with this setup. The CSX comp cars run a pump and cooler for the rearend. Rick L.

Good advice already on those two points. There are two types of covers I've seen re the vent. Some have the vent hole in line with the ring and pinion and really need a cover/deflector plate inside as Bob says. Some have the hole offset so it doesn't drain the rear end from oil splash. There are a host of aftermarket breathers for Hot Rods that will look the part and remote mounting would be my choice.
