Hey Phil,
You and Steve are on track with a small gas can. Just a couple of things to think about or rather things that have bit me in the butt over time. Do not let the inlet of fuel pump get blocked, cut a few notches on the end of hose so it can not stick/suck to any surface. Placing return hose end so always submerged will greatly reduce fumes created. A vent hose out of fuel can run away from an open header collector flames is a good thing.

A radiator is needed on your test stand because coolant temp is monitored by your injection. A bucket works but makes a real mess and is a little dangerous when you blirp the throttle hot water can splash out of bucket. ENJOY !!!
