This muffler/side pipe company ?
I want to make a new exhaust system. 2" J-tube to the collector, muffler and turn out. This company has all the parts including the stainless tubing. With the link below, the muffler is the housing, no 4" housing then the muffler inside. They can custom make any part needed, even a larger collector outlet. To me it may look like a T-bucket side pipe.
I would appreciate your opinions.

In order to use that unit, you would need to have a straight pipe from the collector to the turn outs. I'm not sure it would look all that great, even in stainless.
Here is a more standard unit to try. You should be able to get turnouts to fit these.

They will make the muffler any length that you want it, then get a u-bend in 3 inch to cut in two pieces for your turnout, they have a nice 4 to one collector in 2 in by 3 1/2 inch and you would need 8 J 2inch pipes
Talk to Jim or Scott, and be very up front about the quality of the parts your looking for, I've had to return some stuff and have some now that is going back. The side pipes on the 32 ford in my gallery were made with there components altho I had to return all the 2 inch bends that they sent for the headers --the 4-1 merge collectors came from a place in Nascar land

Also a couple other things I should mention---don't call them J pipes in conversations with them as that is a tube with a 180 bend and one leg longer than the other---
You want 90 degree bends and you can get them to custom bend them with the lengths you need.
And you will want to get 4 that are 3 inch centerline radius and 4 that are 5 inch center line radius so they will nest together at the turnout to the collector

I have that style on my Cobra. It is basically a 4" straight pipe from the collector back. Many people have said it looks pretty good as it doesn't have that bump in the center from the muffler.

ok joydiden- not having any photo's is just darn rude !
Please,....take some shots, I would love to see you pipes !
Vector1- as far as I know, the 4" tube is,....the muffler. Just like "firefly".
Ain't these the most beautiful pipes you've ever seen ! This two piece has a clamp that van not bee seen. The transition is a machine work of art, nice and smooth. He said some black does come out around the clamp but, you just wipe it off. Way too much money for me though.

Sounds great, but there is a muffler inside. I'm not sure what style other Cobra's use, but this has a baffled muffler inside with what looks to be a 3" opening. No glasspack.

If I understand what you are asking, the tube itself has some type of muffler inside. I'm not quite sure how it is built. I would probably take a 3" OD chambered pipe and weld it inside the 4" tube. It would tone it down slightly and still flow good.
The place where you want to buy the piping is about 15 miles from my house.

They've always seemed to have a good reputation with the Corvette crowd. The only complaint that I've ever heard was that their sidepipes (for a mid-year Vette) were louder than others.

I found another company.
http://www.stainlessworks.net/cart/p...roducts_id=514
The price is the best I've found and they can do any custom work.

Hall Fabrication took the sidepipes that I received from Kirkham, cut out the muffler portion, and replaced it with muffler from Hushpower, which is a subsidiary of Flowmaster now.
I see Hushpower ads in Vintage Motorsport mags. They advertise less restriction, but quieter. I like them. Dave Brown has them as well. While Thunderhill has a high db (103?), I'm told these Hushpowers will pass at Infineon and Laguna Seca.
