Default Show your slick front license plate attachment

Has anyone come up with an attractive mount for the front license plate on our Cobras? If so please show us here.

I see you are a rebel from NJ.
This actually should be a two part question.
1. Do you run with a front bracket if so show how you did it.
2. If you do not how much hassle do the police give you about it.

No front plate for me in Calif. No hassle in 5 years. I have a picture in my gallery of the bracket that came with the car when I bought it. If you like it I could make a template of it for you. It mounts to the bottom bumper support. Let me know.

I saw a very elegant and creative solution- owner mounted it horizontaly above the oil-cooler inside the front air-intake. I had a pic but cant find it. Was Clearly visible to anyone more than 12 inches tall, yet didnt obscure the lines or the airflow at all. Gonna do that on mine when I get it.

Well it all depends on your philosophy - leave it off, pay the ticket etc, or put it on to remove an easy reason to be pulled over. I have been hassled in Iowa about front plates so I use them. I tried several of the side mounted ones that variously attach to frame, quick jack and/or blinker light, didn't like any of 'em. I came up with a simple center attachment that yes, obstructs air to the oil cooler, but I don't track my car and have seen zero difference in temps. The clamp is available at any hardware store electrical section...

I took mine off the first night I owned the car.

Leave it off unless you really have to put it on.

Good response Snakebit! In Southern California I haven't put one on any of my cobras and neither have my customers...and NO tickets yet. But I will try to remember that response.

Front plate? I don't need no stinkin' front plate. I keep the DOL rules in my glove box in case I get pulled over by an uninformed officer.

had to have one for inspection but it fell off shortly after...
L-shaped bracket mounted to the top of the oil cooler opening.
Removed and you'd never know it was there.
