Default Cordless drop lights ?

I'm looking for cordless shop drop lights with the LED bulbs and, with magnets to place on say, the frame to shed some light on the manor. (sorry, had to say it)

Here are some examples.

This one is a FLUORESCENT INSPECTION SHOP LIGHT but, probably not as bright as the LED's.

Any opinion is appreciated.

I have a cordless LED shop light and it's worthless.

Check the LED light out before you pay.

My wife (love that woman!) gave me a craftsman cordless LED light. It works well, the battery lasts a long time, and it never gets hot. It recharges from 110v or 12v. I highly recommend it.

Default Cordless LED shop light

I got mine at Harbor Freight. It's very bright, the charge lasts a long time, and no problem with the on/off switch..

Jeff-does the HF have a magnet ? (24 bulbs)

Bob- The Craftsman looks nice and has a magnet. (35 bulbs)

I would assume, the more bulbs makes a difference but, it depends on the watts/volts but, I don't see a rating ?

While not cordless ... I found that the new fluorescent bulbs don't break when you drop the light. As there's no filament there's nothing in there to break, so as long as the bulb itself doesn't break it's fine. Saves so much on bulbs

I got LEDs and I got fluorescents. They're each good.

LEDs work nicely where a cord is a PITA, i.e., inside the trunk where the cord would run underneath you and get tangled with your legs....

The fluorescents are good because they don't burn you! Incandescents have branded me more than once. The 100W equivalent ones seem brighter than the LEDs.

I even put the screw-in fluorescent bulbs into the old-style work lights - this makes them usable again (no hot bulb shield), and gives a lot of light.

FUNFER2 -

No magnet on the Harbor Freight light. Only issue I've had is that without a "foot" bracket, it is sometimes a chore to get it to stay in the position you want it to - and usually the hanging bracket won't hold it in the best position to light up what you're working on.

You bunch of pussies! I just plug in one of these bad boys and I can see THROUGH the fiberglass. They are also good for working on your tan while lying underneath pulling a pan or wrenching on the headers.

I did see today that you can get this style in LED's now. Don't know how brite they are but, much cooler than halogens.

I use a pair of those to heat my 3-car garage in the winter.

I have both a corded fluorescent light and a cordless LED. I find myself using the LED more and more because I don't have to wrangle the cord around. I got the LED light at Sams Club - I don't remember the brand but it's black and yellow and has a magnetic base. It's become my favorite Sams purchase so far.

Hey Mr. B- how much light do you get compared to the fluorescent ? I have a old corded one but I'm wanting a cordless. If you have time, click on the links in my post and see what you think.

I have been using an LED light that is on a elastic band and wear it like a hat. It shines on the spot I am looking. Bought it at Lowe's for about $10. This does not have to be hooked or magnetly mounted to the car, either.

My old incandescent light melted the carpet when I used a 100 w bulb. I switched to a fluorescent type for this reason and they eliminate the possible garage fire if a incandescent bulb is broken when dropped.

Default garage fire

A former co-worker was injured and lost his garage when he dropped his old incandescent light and (he thinks) ignited gas fumes.

What a freak accident !

Here's another choice. No telling how well it lights but, the LED's would at least be cool.

$45 + $20 shipping.

I have a Dewalt cordless 18V tool set and have the 2 lamp battery fluorescent light with the kit. Great light and puts out a very respectable light to work by. Batteries last quite a while and you can have a fresh one ready when one goes out.

I second (or third, or fourth) the fluorescent bulb in an old school trouble light. They run cool, don't break when dropped, and put out plenty of light. Cheap, too!

Now if I could find one that wasn't made in China.......
