Default Hood scoop or buldge

I have an older Everett Morrision replica. I'm running an inline dual four setup on a Dove tunnel wedge manifold. The currenttraditional forward facing scoop doesn't allow for much aircleaner. I'm considering a larger scoop. I think a non traditional rear opening as in cowl induction is the way to go. What I'm asking is has anyone seen a scoop for a Cobra replica that is large enough to cover inline dual fours and hopefully with rounded features to fit in with the lines of the Cobra replica? A cowl induction scoop would cover the distributor for driving in the rain which does happen around here. I could buy, adapt, or alter but not in favor of laying out from scratch.
word for today (esthetetics) this whole subject is contradictory.
I saw Daryl Holiday had his version of the Super Snake scoop on ebay. It didn't reach his reserve point. That scoop, turned around, and if it would clear the hood latches would be ideal. not too tall to block vision. Rear facing to not take in rain water on distributor and not to introduce too much air under hood causing cars front end to lift. And rounded features to fit in with the lines of the Cobra. I've seen the Kirkam with one off fabricated aluminum cowl scoop and hood vents. It's the closest thing I've seen and probably even works.

Here's how I handled the problem. I suppose you could cut the base and make the snorkel flush with the hood.

That's a possibility but remember street car and inline dual fours.

An idea I have tossed around, FWIW:
What about an enclosed ram air system? Enclose the carbs in a simple box and run 2 hoses forward to the air inlets on the side of the radiator opening. Easy to find small, round air boxes (Nissan, Toyota, Subaru) that should allow proper filtration and make filters easy to find and inexpensive. This would be easy for me because I use a throttle cable and I do not use the footbox air vents.

I have been thinking about perhaps a Spectre system, but I know that the tall carb cap wouldn't fit under my hood as is and haven't found anyone with the short carb caps to try. About $90 for each carbruetor cap a lot for another experiment. I keep persueing ebay but the short carb caps have been only available as a full bore" buy it now" option. I picture a pair of single inlet low profile carb caps with a hose for each, one on the right side and one on the left and the filter cones in the nose area either side infront of the radiatior. The tubes, probably 4", going forward through the front wheel wells above the tires flattened in to an oval and clamped up high and to the inside surface of the wheel wells to stay away from the tires.
More than likely I need to bring what ever up through the hood line. That will require either a larger ( remember I'm covering inline dual four carbruetors) scoop. I'd prefered rear entry as in cowl inductuon (scoop) to negate rain on distributor and air under hood lift or a buldge with no outside openings, and go with an air box or carb caps and hoses and remote air filters. I would want something esethically pleasing, low enough to see over, rounded features like most of the Cobra lines.
I was looking at ebay and ran across a scoop for a super snake. It was by D Holiday now shown out of SanAntonio That auction ran out quickly and it didn't see his reserve. Can't get to him. I had conscidered something like that before but was warned about the extra air under hood lifting the cars nose at speeds. I have now had great a change in thought and it's lines are perfect. I'd turn it around make a cowl induction sccop or a buldge. I'm at the bottom of the hood surface now with trimmed down S&H air cleaners. To get even the shortest K&N elements for my S&H air cleaners would require me to come up through the hood surface. I'm not talking about the whole element up in the scoop, just a little taller element. So I need to do something different with this hood. Once the hood issue is taken care of I have several Cobra ovals in my shed. Also there werw two elements for the Cobra or Ford Oval aircleaner back in the day one for the 406 tripower and a taller emement for the dual fouronly difference was the height. Leave a reply if you see something before it't gone please.
