Jim, I'll get the goods on the pinion seal if it will help. Remember to wipe up the mess in the summer, tinker in the winter. You're own suggestion I believe.
Cheers Nick

Default Jag rear

I just went thrue the drill of resealing the stub axles with new bearings and seals. The left stub axle was leaking and had the brake pad all gooy. Tried to reseal the pinion .Local bearing house that supplied the seals and bearings for stub axles couldn't provide a replacement. I went to Schucks, spent about an hour, nothing. I went to NAPA ,40 min, nothing. I tried European Motors ,local Jag dealer. After 20 min parts person gave up went into shop to talk to a mechanic. The mechanic turned to his tool box and produced the new seal.Stiil wrapped in plastic. After another 20 min to find a price we just guessed $25. The new seal is leather seal w/ one piece body It say's Retainers 2HA-019
I installed and it leaks initally.Iis raining now and trans is out so I'll have to wait to see if letting the seal soak up oil will eventually stop the leak.In the event that the leak doesn't stop .Does anybody have a replacement number perhaps American made modern materials and on the shelf?
