Right on! Looks like a really nice street combination.

impressive torque number at low rpm, that is a sweet spot build!!!

535 from a small block

Kinda gives the impression you know what your talking about;)

cheers Kiel

I'm impressed with the numbers too!

blykins 08-02-2014 07:25 PM

I'm really pleased with the torque, especially the peak torque rpm. Not too hard to get 650-700 hp out of these big windsors, but to make 560+ lbft at 4200 rpm and match it up with almost 540 hp does make me giggle a little. Smidge over 10:1 for that California swill, sounds really nice, and makes good power.

Wow, that is a nice motor.

How low in the rpm range did the dyno measure? I'd be curious to know what the torque was around 3000.

blykins 08-03-2014 07:02 AM

At 3200, where the pull started, it had 539 lbft.

Chaplin 08-03-2014 07:07 AM

LMAO, that is just silly good. That will be a ton of fun to drive. Great job!

air gap or vic jr on a 400windsor

looking into a ported rpm air gap for my street car.. 402w. any pros cons vs the stock vic jr manifold?

blykins 11-15-2017 02:36 PM

For that size engine, I'd use the Air Gap. It will have more average power and torque.

stroked windsor 11-15-2017 03:22 PM

thanks.. where do I get one ported?

blykins 11-15-2017 03:24 PM

How much do you want to spend on it? Porting a dual plane can get into some bucks.

stroked windsor 11-15-2017 03:28 PM

like?

blykins 11-15-2017 03:29 PM

$250 for a port match and clean up, $500-750 on full port job.

stroked windsor 11-15-2017 03:31 PM

is it worth it for that manifold? vic jr seems like the one to use on these strokers from what I have read on these forums...

blykins 11-15-2017 04:01 PM

Are you looking for hero numbers or for something that's best in the rpm range that you'll be running?

stroked windsor 11-15-2017 04:04 PM

low mid range for street.. not worried about big hp numbers. torque moves the weight..

blykins 11-15-2017 04:05 PM

A Performer RPM or Air Gap will out run a Victor up until about 6200-6300 rpm.

stroked windsor 11-15-2017 04:07 PM

sweet.. all I have read is go big with the vic.. you should know.. wish I had dyno my motor with both.. did you get my p m s?
