There are two ways to measure Octane ratings. The Research method and the Motor method. In the US we use the average of both combined (R+M/2).

In Oz, they use one or the other. If I remember correctly (IIRC), they use the Motor method which is the higher of the two.

Your 93 Oz octane gas is NOT the same as US 93 octane, far from it.

Our 91 octane in AZ is about 87 when tested, I had to mix 110 octane race at 5 gallons to mix with the 87 to get a 95plus octane it did not ping but I was down on power, that was the only drawback to the 11:1 compression...
