I mean seriously!
Hey my car is just a Superformance. I like it. Drives great and looks sorta right with the rear exhaust and custom color.
Personally I am happy. I was going to buy a Real one.....Happy I did not at that time because the market was at a high then....so basically I got my car for free from what I would have lost back then. Plus It would have been so messed from hitting furry beasts and stuff at high speeds it would be all fooked up.
Guys with weird interiors and wacky car styling.....I just don't get?
Is it just me?

Chuckle chuckle, everybody preaches "make it your own", but as soon as you do they don't get it. I've seen enough of the black standard interiors that they are boring.

The Brits will be waking up in a about 4 hours, probably get some positive feedback on some of these, they have a sense of style

I'm looking for ideas on how I should upholster my replica, including dash layout. It doesn't have to be period correct - I intend to go
as clean and professional as possible, think plush.

Yep, pretty simple and I appreciate your restraint Buzz nailed it for "category" - modern day 2015 look.

Wood is very cool and I'm looking at the different types. Burlwood seems to be the most common but not my favorite, just never really got into it.
If I go with wood I will match it up to my steering wheel (15" flat Derrington). Interesting, never got the info on what wood was used. I've nailed
down the dash to either wood or the metal diamond plate look. If I go with grays & black then the diamond plate dash is it with the dash merging
into the trans tunnel. If I go with lighter interiors like cream/tan then it will be wood that merges with the trans tunnel and then carried all the way
back past the seats with wood accents on the door panels too. I have seen a few of those interiors and they look incredible.

BTW, I think I saw your dash on the other thread.

That is quite possible. It was made of English Walnut and is a little lighter than the steering wheel. For racing I had a cover that went over the wheel to make it easier to grip and the cover was almost exactly the same as the dash.

Ron, your wheel and mine look identical - you don't happen to know the type of wood used do you? It also looks to be a 15" dish type?
If it is (15" OD), how do you find that on the track? Some have said smaller wheels are better, but then you lose a little leverage in the trade,
unassisted steering requires work.

Joe,

Mine was a 15 inch wheel and I liked it better on the track than the smaller one as I never had power steering and it was much better for just driving, especially when going slow or turning to park and etc.

Another.......these are marine guages and stereo ...waterproof and EV ( enhanced visibility)

Very different! With stereos in general I always wondered how much quality sound you would actually hear.
The higher frequencies sure, but the wind boxing your ears would have to impact the low end severely (not to mention the sidepipes).

Wood steering wheels are usually mahogany, aren't they? Seems like a good stable wood for the purpose. The wood dash above looks very similar to mahog, also. You should be able to find veneers in just about any wood type, though. Made properly, just about any hardwood would work for a steering wheel, I would think. The biggest issue with woods like maple is that they like to move with temp & climate change. Laminating wood properly should help stabilize a lot of that, though. I think flamed maple is pretty tough to beat, for tastefully good looks
