Default Question for SPF owners with 351W+

I'm putting the finishing touches on my SPF #1649. I'm to the point where I'm connecting water hoses, and am working on the hose that connects the upper port of the water pump (5/8" hose fitting) to the port on the neck of the "header" or "puke tank" (looks like 3/4" hose fitting). The port sizes are different. The angles are a bear!

The water pump I was sent as part of the install kit is a Carter with fixed hose connections. The hose they sent as part of the install kit is 3/4" on each end, and looks like crap when mounted.

What are you guys using for a solution to this? Please post pictures if possible.

Thanks!

Ray

Unhappy SPF PROBLEM

Ray, the best advice I can give you is to contact the Olthoff's in NC ( Superformance Dealer) for the best way to accomplish your install; and the proper way in case you decide to use your car for any track events. There is a difference!!!!
Also, Second Strike website may offer some help. All dealers are listed there.

Well....obviously didn't get much response here, so I came up with my own solution. I replaced the Carter water pump that came with the install kit with an Edelbrock waterpump that had threaded water ports (3/8" threads). I used a straight fitting for the lower hose to the heater control valve, and a 90 degree fitting for the water by-pass to the neck. I then went to my local AutoZone and found a hose with the tightest "U" I could find and a 5/8" on one end and 3/4" on the other. The clearances are tight, but it fits perfectly and looks excellent!

I almost forgot I asked this question. As it turns out, I replaced the stock type waterpump with an Edelbrock unit. The stock pump had fixed hose connections, the Edelbrock has threaded fittings. so I was able to use a 90degree fitting for the water pump hose to the intake, and although the clearances were fairly close, it fits GREAT! Really looks like it should! I just used a short U shaped hose for the connection. If anyone else is facing this problem, I'll email a photo.
