Default X 303 cam install????

I have a friend with an 89 Mustang notchback. It has 302 H.O. in it and he is wondering if an X 303 cam will it work with stock valve springs and if the piston/valve clearance will be ok????

That is all I know about the car/motor.

What is the lift and duration of the cam. I'm not familar with the X cam. I run a Crane. The lift on a stock shortblock 87-83 can go as high as .544 but if it has a lot of duration its going to hit a piston. You should always check. If its high lift and high duration I say you'll need to notch pistons or go aftermarket.
