Default Harmonic balancer

I have a engine vibration at 2000 rpm and again at around 3000 rpm, might be there at higher rpms but really only notice it when warming up. This car used to have an air condition compressor but the controls at the dash were never installed so I removed it. Would the ballancer be affected by the AC compressor ie. new one needed since removal ? And does it sound like the ballancer. Vibration is not bad and can't be felt while driving. I had an old pickup with the wrong ballancer and it was very noticable until changed by a mechanic.

I doubt it would be caused by the elimination of the AC compressor. You give the rpm range but does it appear at a certain speed and then go away? In that case, it could be a balance problem such as a tire out of round or an unbalanced wheel or even brake rotor. If this is happening you need to find an experienced alignment shop and you may need to balance the wheel while it is on the car. If your problem does not manifest itself at a certain speed and then go away, then you need to look at engine related things.

"might be there at higher rpms but really only notice it when warming up"

I'm not moving so wheel alignment and any susptension issues not applicable here. I didn't build the motor myself I bought the car as turnkey and have noticed quite a few funky things that I have corrected so having the wrong ballancer is not out of the question. I was hoping for a little more input from the guys in the know about harmonic ballancers.

If the 351 is standard balance, then you want a 28 oz dampner balancer and a 28 oz flywheel balance. There are three chouces that will physically fit:

0 balance
28 oz balance
50 oz balance
