Simon,

I have a 408 stroker, with 9.5:1 compression. With 480 hp at the flywheel and 430 RWHP. I agree with Ron on the fact that it is too much power for the car and my gas mileage is about 5 miles to the gallon (its a bit of an issue when I only have a 15 gal tank). The main difference is I have fuel injection with a FAST ECU, this was to make it streetable. I would say by the time I built and sorted the motor I am into it for over $10,000. The engine spec will give you that 500hp range of numbers all depends how much it costs. I would say for a used engine with cast iron heads no more than $4k. Remember you still have get this thing not to overheat in traffic, this means big radiator, oil cooler, and twin electric fans. If your into the power go ahead, if you want a fast car with road manners try a 351W SVO.
