Default 351W Cam/Lifter Combo

I have a 351W stroked to 418 ci and am considering replacing the lifters. It is a pre-roller 1974 block, and currently has a Comp Cams reduced base circle cam along with their retro-fit spider/dogbones lifter retainer setup. The lifters are basically stock Ford hydraulic rollers (Comp PN 851), which are becoming increasingly noisy. I'm considering Crane's link bar lifters, PN 36532. Crane tech support says these lifters will work fine with my small base circle cam, but I'd appreciate some independent confirmation. Has anyone out there used these Crane roller lifters in a Windsor with a small circle roller cam, or do you know for sure if they will work?
Many thanks!

I thought the link bar rollers were for use with standard base circle cams.
Call CompCams and ask them. Might be that they would work but custom pushrods might have to be ordered.
BTW, CompCams also make retrofit link bar hyd rollers.

Stock type roller lifters should last just about forever. In a stock engine, 100K miles is pretty standard. If you're are making noise, you really should figure out why.

As for lifters, have you priced the link bar type yet? More than twice the money - close to $500 a set. If you want to replace yours, use Ford parts - best bang for the buck.
