351W connecting rod identification
I just got off the phone with my dutch mechanic. He asked if I was mistaken about having Eagle I Beam Sir rods because he has installed several of those, has some sitting in inventory, and says my rods do not remotely resemble Eagle I beams he has ever seen. He says that the only thing he can make out is SE stamped on the rods. There is some faint engraving but he cannot make them out. He says they look like stock rods that had been shotpeened, which is disappointing because I have an invoice to a shop in PA that I paid that includes $305 for Eagle I beams with a bushed pin. Does anyone know what rods for a 351W have SE stamped on them?

Very easy to spot a stock rod just by looking at the top of the rod bolt boss area on the rod, really no mistaking a stock rod. Sounds like a ****ty deal and 300 for a steel I beam is far too much for a 351 rod aswell.

69;
I looked at a set of Eagle I-beam rods today, not for a small block, but for a 460, still I would think they should be near identical in markings....here's what I found;
The rod itself looks just like a stock I-beam rod, casting marks down the side, it did have ES in raised letter on one side not SE....that I'm sure of.......took some pics, just have not uploaded them yet....
But the dead give-away is if it is an Eagle rod, it will have the 12 point ARP rod bolts, and the rod cap will not have a flat end like a factory rod, but a rounded machined rod cap.......
Look on page 4 in my gallery and at the top you should see a pic of my 331 short block, it has Eagle 4340 Forged H-beam rods and you can see the rod caps in the pic, they are identical to the I-beam rod caps.......

hope this helps.....

Thanks for the info. I am going down there tomorrow and will take pics and compare with your stuff. I found your gallery but don't see the pics of the rod caps.

I'm heading to the shop this afternoon and I'll take some pics of a stock rod cap and the Eagle rod caps, that's the dead give-a-away as to who made the rod...........
I'll post them later this afternoon............
