Default Roush 427

I'm interested in a Superformance with a ROUSH 427, the valve covers are engraved with the following, 427R - 092.

I've seen other Roush 427 with different numbers on the valve covers, like 427R - 323, 427R - 242, it seems that every engine has a different number.

Could this be a serial number, or a code for different options?

Thanks,

Francis

Default roush 427r

I was told the second number you are refering to is the number of produced motors of that size. I.E. Mine is number 538, the 538th 427R made. Hope I was told the truth.

The last numbers after the 427R refer the the motor itself. Roush can tell everything that is in it and who built it.

Yes you are right . My engine is 427R 058 and has been running great after over 10,000 miles with no problems.I just purchased new spark plugs, but I'm not sure what to gap them at,anyone have any information?

I have 427-095. It seems not all the motors are set up the same. I'm really happy with my particular configuration. Maybe numbers around the same build would be similar.

Good luck with that. I have had to go through Hillbank to get to anybody at Roush that could answer questions about the R series of motors. I love my motor BTW, just need to go through Lance at Hillbank when I have some questions.

Make sure you tell them if you have an MSD or not. You'll have to gap the plugs larger with an MSD.
