Default Low resistance spark plug wires ???

Are low resistance (50 ohm / foot) better than 1,000 ohm wires? I am thinking about replacing my FMS wires (1,000 ohm / foot) with some 8.2 or 8.5 mm wires from Taylor or MSD.

I am running a 6AL and Blaster II coil.

I don't have any "sprak plugs" in my cars.
But I sure like Ford Motorsports plug wires - the cut your own to fit ones.

Let me share a story of plug wires. I use old school stainless Solid Core wires with a MSD 6T box because they "just look right". Anyway I initially tried non resistor Autolite Race plugs, at about 5000 RPM it would begin missing. At the suggestion of some I tried a the 50 Ohm per foot wires but with the same results. I then put in a used set of Autolite resistor plugs that I had removed previously and it ran fine with no hesitency or missing. So I then replaced the wires with the solid core ones that I really wanted to use and it ran fine.
After this I was told that with capacitive discharge ignitions and there ability to discharge so quickly; that they must have a measured amount of resistance in the secondary system either through the wires or in the plugs themselves otherwise the spark kernal will not be hot enough can get blown out and the fuel will not be ignited. In my case the 50 ohm per foot wires did not work for me. They may have become to short after I custom fit them to my 289 engine. I know MSD says not to use Solid Core wires but at this point all is well. Not for everybody.

According to the instruction manual, a hellically wound wire must be used such as MSD Heli-coil or 8.5 Super Conductor wire. The Super Conductor wires run 40-50 ohms per foot. I woud say that as long as you are using a hellically wound wire with at least 40-50 ohms of resistance per foot you should be fine. I can attest to higher resistance wires working fine as well. Never use a solid core wire.

Higher resistance wires simply act like a smaller pipe to deliver water to a sprinkler. Ya get water but at a lower volume than a bigger pipe. MSD or MULTI SPARK DISCHARGE sends 5 pulses of water down the pipe until 2500 RPM when the pulses just melt together as 1 charge. When the 5 pulses are sent down a solid wire the flux field tends to crash into each other and again reduce the sprinklers spay. The smaller pipe on the sprinkler has to work harder so gets tired and hot quicker and calls in sick more often. BAD SPRINKLER !!!!!!!!!!!!!!
LMAO...... sorry just having one of those days Jeff C
