Question Why can't I view my reply while logged in?

Ok....one of you spike haired computer nerd club members help me. Here's what happens:

1) I log in and post a new thread or reply to my (or any) existing thread and submit it.
2) I go to the top and hit "New Posts". Crap!...my message is not there. The only way I can see it is to logout, do a screen refresh, and hit "New Posts". Then it's there, at the top of the list.

Why do I have to logout to see the message I just posted?
Is it this way for everyone?

Try that pesky F5 button, refreshing the screen will update the view.
