I'll see if Doug can dig me up a picture of how it turned out. You can send your new one to me to make it a convertible or I can figure a price on a base and you could do it yourself if you have a nutsert tool and inserts.

Thanks, I'd like to see it. I will pull mine off to polish it this winter and this might be something I'd like to do at the same time.

Patrickt (and others),

Have you noticed any difference after you installed your turkey pan? Would you say that it was "worth" it?

No, not really (and mine is easily removable so it's not a big deal to check). If I recall correctly, it wasn't so much the TP that limited performance a bit, but rather the smaller air cleaner that you then had to use. The K&N filter though seems to have lessened that impact quite a bit. There is a reasonably authoritative paper floating around, maybe on the SecondStrike web site, that analyzes all of that. Using a K&N filter with the TP gets you pretty close to the performance of no TP and a bigger air cleaner.

Didn't think about the air cleaner aspect of it; thanks.

Any luck on digging up a pick of this? I'm pretty interested.

Face it, Doug. You ain't gettin' the Turkey Pan and you ain't gettin' a service manual. Just not in the cards, buddy. You may get some lip service, but that's all.

I should have been faster on the draw and taken the one that Kirkham put up on the "pay it forward" thread, but then again, I don't really "need" one since I have one. I'll sort the T-Pan out, but the service manual may be left to my heirs to sort out....

I'll fix him up on the TP and then I'll start the manual. I even deleted a couple of PM's so he's on a roll. Go get a lottery ticket Doug.

You've got a PM. Let's prove Pat wrong on the convertible TP and we can show him what one looks like when it doesn't have big springs hanging all over it.

Yeah, yeah, yeah... if I had a nickel for every time someone on here pledged to start writing a CSX manual I'd be a rich man.

No, not changing it, but rather emphasizing a subtle aspect of the conversation that I find to be endearing.

He likes this particular aspect of the conversation because he can remind us how great it is that ERA owners have a nice manual and he knows this will be an enduring issue for CSX owners....

I had this strange misconception the thread was titled Turkey Pan and we might be talking about something subject specific.
I went to a fight once and a Hockey Game broke out.

I was excited when i seen 37 posts and i thought wow alot of people responding to my turkey pan request.but i was wrong.Pretty sad to see how a question can completely go in another direction. Maybe the person who brought up the other topic should have posted his own thread regarding what ever the hell he was talking about.
