Superformance late model 351W rubber motor mounts
I've searched the forums here without any luck. My late model Superformance (SPO 2820) comes with the frame mounts that use a horizontal bolt to secure the engine mount to the frame mount for my 351W based stroker motor.
What part number (or car model and year ) do I need for the rubber motor mounts on the block? Are these from a particular year and model Ford Mustang?
Does someone have the NAPA part number? Or the Ford part number?
I'm not interested in the after market semi solid or solid mounts.
Thanks for your help.

You might want to call Hillbank. It's possible that the mounts are specific to the SPF (i.e. not an aftermarket part). I believe that the mounts are part of the 351 engine kit, but may be sold separately.

The mounts are 80's era Mustang 5.0 coupe (converts are different) but I suggest you contact Olthoff Racing and purchase the urethane mounts they sell. The difference in harshness is not noticed, but the lack of the engine "shaking and baking" around the engine compartment is! Plus you will be less likely to have your sidepipes contact the body on a hard launch.
You will need to cut the steel tube that passes through the chassi bracket about .50" on each end to fit the Olthoff mounts.
They are well worth the investment.

Unless you have a 351 putting out about 200 hp get the urethane mounts or learn how to do fiberglass and paint work. Your sidepipes will hit the bottom of the opeining on the passenger side and probably the top on the driver side. You will notice a reduction in rocking of the car also since the engine cannot establish momentuem as it can with the rubber mounts.

x2 regarding the urethane mounts from Olthoff. Also do a search on SCOF, there's a bunch of info regarding the urethane mounts.

I too would call Dennis Olthoff 704-647-9924. He could get you the original rubber mounts, but you would me much happier with his urathane mounts.

Mine had the stock rubber mounts and the side pipes hit the body. I also recommend the after market mounts.

John,
Did you upgrade the trans mounts as well? At some point, I'd like to do that. I've heard from a couple of people that it's a good upgrade.

Nope. But it's something I need to add to the list.

If I had been limited to one upgrade on the car...this is the one I would choose. I have seen the damage engine torque roll can do when the pipes it the body. My pipes havent moved since day one...and I have never noticed excessive vibration with my Olthoff poly mounts. I also upgraded the transmission mount to poly and would also recommend it.

One could use undercar exhaust and avoid the sidepipe issue.

Tim - Are you going with the rubber mounts? Why aren't you interested in the after market urethane mounts?

Doug: I'm going to go with the Olthoff mounts as it appears that I would be foolish to do otherwise.
