Mind you, I have a bigger coolant problem that I'm gonna have resolved in the next couple weeks. The intake manifold gasket is leaking and the Finish Line expansion tank isn't well sealed to the engine, so I'm gonna replace them both.
How many of you have replaced your intake manifold gaskets too? Should I go with the steel-core gasket rather than the usual one? My 392 stroker (351W) would use either the Fel-Pro 1262-S (steel core) or 1262 (regular). Thanks for any tips.

By all means, use the steel core intake gasket! I can send you horrendous pictures of what the non-steel gaskets look like after only a few thousand miles. And don't delay with the intake gasket replacement. If coolant is leaking into the oil, your main bearings are at risk. |
