Default Vacuum Question

Currently, the vacuum line for my brakes is attached to back of my (older) Holley carburetor. I want to vent the valve covers and need to make sure I use the correct vacuum ports. I have been told the brakes should attach to the single rear intake vacuum port and my valve cover should connect to the single back vacuum port of the carburetor. Can anyone confirm this or let me know if you need more information?

The engine is a Ford Racing crate 351 Windsor, Holley 750 double pumper and Edlebrock RPM Air Gap intake.

Thanks in advance.

Jamie

PCV port is on front. The larger of the two, in mine anyway.

In a perfect world the PVC valve will have its own vacuum source and so will the brake booster. Sometime people T and connect both to the same source. Ok for temporary. Scof has a solution if u only have one source. You drill through an existing boss on the manifold and install a 1/8" not nipple. U most stop the shavings from going into the cylinder.

Brakebooster is on the Manifold connector (big on the back, red)
Front or side can be both (Manifold, Ported). When you demount the Holley you can see the differenze. Manifold is always direkt to the Intake.
The PCV should have a separate connector, on the Holley or direkt on the Intake (blue).

Booster vacuum should be from the manifold, not carb.

The PCV should have a separate connector, if the engine has or gets by time a big blow off oil, the oil gets also into the pipe from the brake booster. There you dont want to have it. Normaly when the engine is still perfect and has no mounting fault, there is no problem. The other thing is to use a breather can, race engine or big blow off.
