I agree...

V... what intake manifold gaskets do you use ?? I ask because of the head aches I went through a few years ago when my fel-pros disintergrated around the water jackets !!!

The Fel-Pro 1230 is always listed for my Edelbrock Performer RPM heads at parts houses as the standard for 429-460 apps and they are well known to breakdown, slide, slip, distort especially around the water jackets. It seems the 1230 is actually a racing app gasket, not designed for long term use, designed for engines frequently taken apart and rebuilt hence they are quite good for short term but that's it. They have no steel insert. Everybody says get the Victor Reinz NitroSeal gaskets, like 95109SG but I have never been able to find these, not online or at any parts stores near me. Fel-Pro also makes the MS901101 which if you look for it, is readily available, even at Summit etc, and it turns out this is similar to the Victor Reinz, is heavy duty, has a steel insert, and is the one recommended at 460Ford.com so that's what I went with this time. NAPA is said to have the 95109SG but again, I couldn't find any that listed or carried 'em. There are a number of threads on this at 460Ford.com so I put the MS901101 on mine for this project

V...your on top of your game in the gasket department, after fel-pros and mr gasket both failed, I was informed...probably from the 460ford forum about the Victor Reniz gaskets at NAPA...that was several years ago which I was able to find at the time. Since Dana aquired Victor Reinz the gaskets have been hard to find.

I knew there are steel insert gaskets for the small blocks but was not aware that fel pro now has them for the 385 motors, thats good to know. keep up the good work!

All kinds of HP with that cold, dense air.

Looks great. But then I have always been a fan of dual fours.
