I had exactly the same issue. Turns out it was the brake pads moving around.

Make sure your regular brake pads have retaining clips. Mine didn't and they don't make them for mine, so I moved the pads from the passenger side to the driver's side.

Clanking disappeared. Another option would be new pads I guess.
