I did a quick scan of AutoTrader, Kijiji and a few other sources, and here's the list of SPFs currently for sale up here. - $67,500 - 2002MY, solid back, 392 (351W), Brampton ON
- $69,795 - unknown MY, blue w/white, 393 (351W), Surrey BC

- $95,000 - 2008MY, midnight blue w/grey, 408R (351W) with EFI, Calgary AB
- $114,728 - 2005MY, titanium w/black, 427R (351W) with EFI, Barrie ON

I'd be interested in seeing if other makes follow that general trend.

ERA's never stop depreciating and eventually the person will have to pay a disposal fee!!!!!
That was way to easy.

I think he was referring to the dual roll bar ERAs...
Sorry...you walked into that one.

As I suspect is the same with others, I keep detailed records of what I've spent on my snake. I figure my SPF is worth about about $15K less that I have into it!

Believe me, I understand. I've been known to occasionally dish out a gratuitous crotch-kick myself. But it would be interesting to see the trends in other manufacturers, you could even leave dual-roll bar ERAs off the list if you want.

In my opinion ERA does not advertise and relies on sales by word of mouth. They have always been ranked as one of the top of the line with limited production numbers which help to maintain resale value. When I was buying a SPF my buddy who owns a kit car (we still do not know the manufacturer) new well of ERA but never heard of Superformance. His has been sitting in the garage for 10 years. SPF and BDR advertise heavily. Everyone knows who assembled the chassis on BDR's and SPF's and who painted them. The quality is consistent from car to car. I have grown to appreciate ERA AFTER I have owned two other Cobras. For the first time buyer I feel SPF /BDR is an easier decision, for the guy buying his second or third, I feel ERA goes to the top of the list. I also feel ERA retains it value as good or better than SPF but due to them being in the north east I see little of them in Texas. I have a SPF and BDR dealer within 70 miles of my house. My next will be a Kirkham, hopefully I can find one in the upper $70's price range if not I always have the SPF to keep me distracted.

FWIW, a '95 SPF is a very early build. Not suggesting that it wasn't well bought, because it was. But that car in stock form lacks considerable changes from even my 700 series car (built in '00). In the hands of the right buyer that car could easily resell for north of $35K (and to someone in Canada!). If there was ever an opportunity in today's economy to flip a Cobra, that was one of them!

Most dealers have none in stock. If you want new then you have to wait, SPF is charging the same $$ or more for a roller. The markets bottomed, if you find a guy looking for a plastic replica with no ac, top, creature comforts for $50k plus he is recession/depression proof at the time of his purchase. I beleive in the "right" city you can sell a pristine SPF with a Roush, KC engine for mid 50's within a month. Remeber you only have to find one buyer for your car. A new compartive new SPF would be close to $70K. Either way a SPF is has depreciated exponentially LESS than BAC,C,NFLX,and half of all mutual funds out there!!!

Mine is for sale and if that chart is correct, mine is underpriced, and I have all the extra goodies on it.

This engine will walk your coyote builds, the DOHC cammer has more wins for ford in grand am than any another engine, also all the ford gt's at le mans use the cammer 5.0. Everyman is entilted to his opinion. (Ive sold 2 cobras with chevy motors in them there replicars not real shelbys remember)

As a fellow cammer owner, I believe you are missing the point of the other poster. As with your "chevy powered cobras", the cammer requires an owner who believes in thinking out of the box, one who wants something a bit different instead of the usual BB/SB Ford route. Again, nothing wrong with us having them, the point being that far fewer buyers are searching for the same thing we have. Nothing more, nothing less.

One recent buyer told me when he bought "If my money is going down in value monthly, then I'm buying something that has value to me before I have none" and "I'm so d@mn tired of hearing about the economy that I'd rather hear sidepipes"
There are people who have the capacity to purchase such things and they are buying. Not in the quantity of five years ago, but enough to have filled up the order book at the factory and pretty well depleted dealer inventory. All of my GT40s are gone for now and I am down to one MK III. More are on order but the point is there ARE buyers out there and the right cars will sell for the right price.

Exactly.
And that's good news that folks are still buying SPF products in steady fashion. They make a great product.

Its better than your overpriced roush builds. Its ok to be jelous, you have looked at my page enough, probably to get ideas for your own builds. I'll give you a deal on my car, just cause I like you so much.
