What you're doing is what's in my post #3 of this thread, except in my Shelby I used a Wilwood catch and you'll likely use a Kirkham (nice!).
The only PITA is reaching the port without removing any panels. It can be done as long as you're not a really big guy. Very simple job but hard to reach.

Yes, I read that post. It is reinforce my comfort that this will solve the problem with mine too. And that it is relatively uncomplicated.
