hub and rotors for Mustang II suspension
Hi all,I'm building a new chassis for my cobra using a mustang II front suspension.I want to switch to a five lug pattern and possibly a larger front rotor.I don't want to spend the extra bucks on an aftermarket setup.Is there another OE hub and rotor that will bolt up?

There are several different inexpensive conversion kits that will use 10 3/4" Chevy rotors or 11" Taurus rotors and GM calipers. These use the M II spindle and are easy to adapt. I think I got mine from TCI (Total Cost Involved, not the tranny company) several years ago.

Hey Ken
We might be able to work something out if you're interested. I'll be switching my front brakes to Wilwoods, so I'll be selling my rotors/calipers. I think (I'll have to check to be exact) they are Granada rotors and GM calipers. I have Mustang II spindles. (those I'll be keeping)
I just hadn't planned on doing this quite yet. Do you need them soon?

what size and brand of wheels are you useing as I have the same setup inside PSI 16 inch wheels and also would like to someday upgrade my front brakes.

What brand and size of tires are you using on your 16" wheels? I have a set of 16" Compomotive wheels but I can not find tires the correct size. At least not any that will let me run the same tread pattern on the front and rear. I ended up having to buy 17" rims, (which I am really not real happy with). I am not the "big rim" type of person. I would like to be able to put the Compomotive rims on it if I could find the right tires.

You can get your spindles and rotors with caliper mounting brackets just about anywhere. Most of the suppliers will sell you the set up and delete the heavy GM calipers for a credit.
I used this set up, then bought the Wilwood GM Metric calipers as they are aluminum and saved about 12 lbs per side. They were pretty reasonably priced.
Check your pieces as soon as you get them so you can return them if you need to. I had my set up for a couple years before trying to fit them all up a couple weeks ago and the brackets wouldn't mount the callipers properly. It was too late to return them, so I had to modify them to fit.

I'm running BFG P245/50ZR16 front and P255/50ZR16 rear on 16 PSE wheels Car came with them on 1999 they seemed new then.

Use the pinto spindle, granada rotor (5 on 4 1/2) and the gm caliper. All of that you can buy at the local parts house. Then go to speedways website or call them 1-800-979-0122 and buy the adapters to bolt the gm caliper to the pinto spindle. You use the granada wheel bearings as well. Simplist cheapest way to do it.

ditto on the granda, 11 inch and heidt's makes a caliper bracket and complete brake set up to fit this combo with the must II spindle and 11 inch rotor it even fits 15 inch wheels. hubs avail at almost any auto parts store. |
