Stop at the Ocean Deck and have lunch! They have the best spot on Daytona, a beer right on the beach!

Darn! I had already left my the time I got this, or else..

I made it down to the beach later today with the car.

I also stopped by the Speedway and got the photo. I didn't have time to go inside to check out the Driver Experience areas.

I then went by the Drag Racing Museum in Ocala, FL. It was a nice museum, but I have never been a big drag racing fan, so a lot of the cars were probably important from a historical stand point, but not being a big fan I didn't take many photos. This sign was on one of the doors in the museum. Lots of Don Garlits stuff.

I'm now in Tallahassee, FL. in my el cheapo $30.00 Priceline room. Not bad for the money. The car is just outside the door to the room.

Made it by Wayne's place (Very Cool Parts) http://www.verycoolparts.com/ in Enterprise, AL. for lunch and then went down to Pensacola, FL. to tour the National Naval Aviation Museum. I saw that and MORE! Turns out there was a huge airshow today, including the Blue Angels. I missed the Blue Angels, but got to see my first airshow during darkness. Pretty cool. Borrowing some McDonalds WIFI right now. Time to try to find another Price Line room for tonight!

Here's some earlier photos.

When I left Biloxi, MS. it was pretty cold!

Orange groves were everywhere in S. FLA. The smell was great!

I missed the track day with the DSCC members, but I stopped by and checked the place out. It's a really nice racetrack. Got the photo as you can see!

Joe,

You are my inspiration in keeping my build on track; I look forward to joining you one day for a road trip.

Hi Fraser! Well I'm looking forward to you getting your car on the road too. Maybe you'll "git-er-dun" before the Spring Meet in a few months!

Here's some photos at the Naval Aviation Museum.

I finally made it home on Friday night. I left a day or two early in an attempt to beat the cold front that moved through here on Friday. Unfortunately I hit the cold front in Tyler and had a little two hour rain delay. After the front passed through I drove on in, rain free.

The final trip stats are as follows:

3275 miles
171.335 gallons of gasoline burned
19.11 MPG (Combined city and highway driving)

I had a blast on this trip and wouldn't hesitate doing it again someday. I got to meet old and new friends. It was really nice to be able to put a face and personality behind the screen names of many people here on FFCARS and CLUB COBRA. I had absolutely no problems with the car on the trip, other than one sun visor that came loose. Luckily I had the correct size allen wrench packed in the tool kit.

Hopefully some of the Deep South Cobra Club members will make it to the TCC Spring Meet in March!

Rock on, I have taken 100? cross country road trips in a variety of convertibles. Never a Cobra. The one thing I know, if the cars breaks down, nobody knows it better than you to repair. Keep the faith!!!!!

I'll tell you what, if the DSCC can't get the Turn 1 Club for the 12 Hours of Sebring this year, I'll take you up on the TCC Spring Meet.

What a great trip.
