After all of the usual ads where the wife is selling the dude's car...this was great!!!!

That being said...I got the one the rest of you can only dream about. Call sign's Cheerleader cuz I got the high stepping chic from high school 37 years ago. Shows up at all the cruises...braves the cold and wet and hot drives, became den mother to Gasholes during open tracks and LeMons, able to verbally go toe to toe with the likes of Turk and Buckley and other n'er do wells over the years...

...and talked me into getting the arruminum beast instead of rebuilding the Butler after backing me up on Vettes, etc. for several decades of autocrossing...always part of the fun.

She even had a hand in the BNL (Bare Naked Lady) name.

...and she laughed her ass off reading the ebay ad. Yup...a mucho muy goodo lass.

...just braggin

Some folks just marry the wrong ones, and you gotta' cut your losses, although it looks like he's decided to go out with a bang.

Guess I'm lucky, too. Married a former cheerleader/ homecoming queen as well, even though it took me till I was 34 to find her. That was 21 years and two kids ago. She wears the same dress size as when we got married. She's a keeper, although I have to remind myself that I live in an "employment at will state" and can be fired for any reason at any time. And I give her plenty of reasons, plenty of the time. Lucky for me she's not interested in raising the two teens solo, so I guess I can keep my day job a little longer.

Default There is a lesson here.....

To all the folks who got it right the first time, outstanding.
To all the folks who got it right the second time, congratulations, you live and learn.
To all the folks who are working their third attempt, peace be with you and may all your dreams come true with this one.
To all those folks who have given up after the third try, truly you are blessed to do what you please, but, gasp, err, well, was it worth it?

As we grow older our eyes will occasionally wander to the hard bodied 25+ ladies strutting their stuff since its part of our genetic heritage to scope out what's available, but after perhaps a fantasy or two of thinking about what it would be like, we revert back to the person walking next to us, that special someone that we know intuitively we will be spending the rest of our days with and we move on and we remember, all the good times.

Yep, we're hooked ok. tin-man

I've learned a lot over the past 42 years of being with my wife but I don't pretend to always figure her out. Mutual respect and trust go a long, long way.

"In sickness and health" is only vow where negative comes before the positive. The reason becomes obvious to anyone with some mileage in marriage. Those sick times sure do suck the life out of...wait!, I know the cure: garage time!!! (ha-ha!)

Although that sounds like fun, how can I get to do that stuff. My ex left me with 2 elementary school aged kids and a bunch of debt. I don't have time or money to do anything...

Hmm, with the Thailand situation, I guess I could bring the kids along.

Please note; I got VERY lucky the first time. Never any REAL problems, because she did tell me a long time ago, "There will be no divorces in this relationship. I believe in our vows "until death do us part""!

So it's VERY important to keep the "War Department" happy ............... correct Larry R.????

Amen! Steve, "You are Right!"....The three most important words in a husband's vocabulary.

I got to tell you that this post has triggered some unusual responses. Any way, after 48 years this January, I got the best catch of them all....A nurse with a purse!

About two years ago this ducey wife placed her soon to be ex-hubbie's gorgeous Ferrari on ebay for a 30 minute auction and basically she was giving the car away for pennies and no reserve. Good thing that EBay people got wise and ended the auction before it caused a death. Hey nothing good has been said abouth the rath of a woman scorned.

Murky, to each their own, but I am guessing we all allowed that while you stated your check book we knew exactly what the score was.

Hey, you gotta be one fine upstandin' gent if you buy your wifey a Cobra from your check book. Fantasy or no fantasy.

So, let me see now, if Connecticut is a community property state and you bought your wifey a Cobra from your check book and we know that aint true, since its probably a joint checking account, it can be stated half of the value of the car belongs to your wife since the funds were joint, and the other half you graciously wrote a check for, from your portion of the funds, thus the Cobra is the sole property of your wife, way to go Murky, you da man. tin-man

Tin man.... OK the checkbook has ONLY my name on it, but I DO know the reality of it. LOL I'm buying my wonderful wife her own car, 1.) because she really enjoys the cobra as much as I do, 2.) She's a great driver and loves sports cars, and 3.) I know she'll probably take mine away from me if I don't get her one!
Ct is a community property state, so I'm planning on putting everything in her name, house, cars, bank accounts, etc, and that way if the worse should happen I'll just explain to the judge that I was her BOY TOY and that I should be compensated accordingly for my years of dedicated service! I'll let you know how this works out for me! Judge will probably be a woman anyway.
There's a new Barbie doll out. Divorced Barbie...come with all of Kens stuff!!!

I have to wonder if some of these posts about how wonderful their marriage is are not somewhat embellished due to them knowing their wife might see their post, lol. Statistically speaking less than 10% of marriages are considered happy/healthy per several studies. Kudos to those that have beaten the odds. Cheers.
