It also looks like the rod cap is burnt. It would take a serious oiling problem to create enough heat to darken the rods like that, unless they are old stock.

YUCK.

Hey, I've got a side oiler for sale

Charmer

James....my exhaust ports look about the same as John's. Most of the high temp engine paint I've used is only good to about 500 degrees. The 1200 to 1500 degree stuff that I have seen only comes in like black, white and silver for headers etc. As far as I know mine runs fine....but then I am running some high octane stuff.

Lone Star is standing behind the engine builders findings right now but they told me to take it somewhere else to avoid a conflict of interest.

They checked the oiling and said all was fine. The damaged rod was not burnt nor were any of the bottom end berrings. They said that all looked good. the rod bolt snapped in two and the rod cap is mangled beond belief.

Charmer Please send me the info on the side oiler for sale. Is this the one you bought off of ebay? Have you run it yet.

Guys while you are at it please send me info on any motor you know of. I have got to get this thing running before our day at motorsport ranch. If I can't find a good deal I have to put this one back together.

Thanks John

Hey John,

I just posted it up on CC's for sale page. Yes, this is the one I bought off of ebay. I had a mechanic check it out after the truck spill and everything inside and out was fine, except for the plug wires. One was cut so I bought a new set.

If you're really interested in this, email me and we'll talk

Stretch
