Anyone know of someplace we can cruise that is east of Houston? Maybe a small town with a nice Ice House or something.
We never seem to go in that direction and David Has been a trooper cruising in all the way from Kountze, Texas! Let's postpone the BBQ and figure out someplace on the east side to go. The only place I know that way is baytown but don't know anyplace to meet.
Let's make the call tomorrow and I will send out an email

Go East young man! or something like that.....
East works for me. I'll get out my trusty Texas Atlas. It's easy to find nice back roads through the forest, but it won't help me find a nice place to eat.
Ok, who has ideas on places to meet and eat on the east side of town? I'll look for a cruise route.

How about Liberty? Any decent places to meet and eat there? We could head up Hwy 90, or out I-10 to Hwy 146 north to Dayton (anything there) and then over to Liberty.
David - Do you know the area?

Been through Liberty many times, but don't know anything about where to eat. I am "racking" my brain, but nothing so far. (I guess its hard to work with no tools).

What is it, about 100 miles to Kountze from downtown Houston?
Sounds like a nice cruise to me. I went a total of 240 miles on our little cruise (Dennis, Dwight and I) to Hempstead a couple of months ago.
Any place to eat or 'do our thing' in Kountze, David?
I like backroads better than freeways. Once out of Houston, we can probably chart a couple of decent backroad routes there and back.

Nuttin in Kountze but Dairy Queen and Sonic. Beaumont will be a zoo with car show and cruise all weekend (Everything from Harleys to 18 wheelers). Crosby? Liberty? Dayton? North of Houston?

David I don't have a problem with Ice Cream! Road trip to Kountze for blizzards and banana splits and David....what does everyone think?
If not I gotta know asap. email goes out tomorrow afternoon. Plan b is a little Ice house here in town. That provides us with a meeting place but not the cruise.
Speak up people!!!!

Maybe keep our monthly meetings at one of the usual places in Houston, but plan a cruise between meetings for most months - Dennis doesn't coordinate any cruises (unless he insists or unless it is for 2 chapters, like Fayetteville) and we have a regular rotation of monthly meetings in the 4 quadrants of the city so anyone will know where it will be on a given month. We only need a location in the 'NW' quandrant to do this - considering Humble, Seabrook, Captain's or 59 Diner, and ???

We should meet near Houston because if we get 100 miles away, not many will participate, especially in this heat. Much easier for 1 Cobra to drive than 10. Lets cruise to Kountze/Beaumont/East Texas area when I can get local Cobras to participate.

August Meeting
Dennis,
I will not be able to attend this weekend, I have to be in San Marcos for my son's graduation. It's seems that there is a lot of disagreement on what to do. I look forward to Sept.

Dennis,
Just my luck - no race scheduled for this weekend - it now appears no meeting at all? Or will there be an e-mail latter today?
Thanks
Rockey
