Post Lunch/Brunch Booked

Current plan is to leave Origin parking facility at 12:00pm, drive to El Arroyo's restaurant on 12432 FM2244 (Bee Cave Rd) for lunch/brunch from 12:30-2:30pm. Then do a Hill Country poker run from 2:30-4:00pm back to Hotel.

El Arroyo has paved parking for 70+ cars, and over flow parking across the street at the car wash parking lot. Indoor seating for 200, outdoor patio seating for 100. Seperate checks approved (cash, checks, VISA, MC, etc.). Order from the menu.

http://www.diningoutwithrobbalon.com...oyo/menu1.html

Restaurant reserved for the TCC between 12:30-2:30pm. (If it rains we can meet at El Arroyo's in our street cars.) Restaurant staff will be planned for 200+ members and guests.

I will be in constant contact with El Arroyo's management till the big 2004 TCC Spring Meet Event in February. I will post further updates soon.

Guys,

I'm no structural engineer, but I stayed in a Holiday Inn Exp...

Seriously, for a while in undergrad I thought about being a structural engineer and spent some time learning to draft and basically hanging around a structural engineering office. Almost any structure & especially parking structures are typically built with mega-worst case assumptions like:

- All spaces occupied by 5500lbs SUVs
- All driving spaces filled up with SUVs trying to exit the structure
- All floors loaded to maximum
- Gale force winds
- Extra water load weight
- etc.

Those cobras are so light, even filling up the entire top floor hasn't (and I'd bet any amount of money) would never be an issue.

Your resident foreigner here, with his 2 cents worth from TN. I would like to see a Sat. AM cruise or b'fast get together before the Origin stand around. Getting to Origin at 9 or 10 and not leaving until 12 burns a lot of daylight, especially without "refreshments". Remember that Freddie and I are coming from the cold northeast and want seat time.

Freddy, what are you talking about get rid of the monsoon on Friday. If you ask Morris and Matt, that's the only time my car gets washed

My two cents as a washed up has been prez....

I like the tradition of the Origin parking garage...aggies like tradition....but we have outgrown it. I for one would not want to park on the level below. I think if we can meet at the hotel, take the group picture and then take off for the poker run, that would work out. I'll even spring for a few dozen donuts. Someone would however have to organize the parking.

Have we talked to the hotel yet to get a good rate or is it too early. If we have, let me know and i'll book a room ASAP!

See you guys at Tony's party!

Thumbs up No Sweat!

No one needs to park below, unless it rains. Everyone can park on top. Don't forget the top parking spaces go up one additional level.

As for the Hotel, I'll let Cammer and Jacque touch base with them.

I'll handle the Lunch/Brunch at El Arroyo's from 12:30-2:30pm, and the Poker Run from 2:30-4:00pm.

Dennis, as long as aggie tradition does not include a bon fire on the Origin roof.

Hmmm

20 suv's at 5,000 each = 100,000 lbs = worst case senerio

75 cobras at 2,300 lbs each = 172,5000 lbs
plus 300 people at say 150 lbs each = 45,000 lbs

so- 172,500 lbs + 45,000 lbs = 217,000 lbs

OR 117,000 lbs OVER worst case senerio

I seriously think we have overloaded the floor on more than one occasion. Yes the floor is supposed to flex, as it called. It is not however supposed to STOP FLEXING while loaded.

Guys it does not cost anything to be safe, lets use our heads.

Post TCC Big Guns to Decide

What ever is decided, we need to be at El Arroyo's at 12:30pm or sooner. If we stay at the Hotel, and by-pass Origin, plan on leaving the Hotel between 11:30 and 11:45am for lunch/brunch.

I'll let the TCC big guns (Stretch, Tom, Dennis, and Stuck) call the shots about Origin parking issues.

No, but I am

Seriously, 150lbs average per TCC member? Since most people have a "fun" time squeezing into my driver's seat, I'd say that I am one of the smaller members, and I weigh 165lbs. And I'd much prefer to be conservative with these numbers.

Cheers,
-Neil.

I say the hotel may be the way to go....Blake and i can probably even round up some entertainment for the event if we're interested. I would love to find a nice public park or something similar to what we had at Joe Zs.

If you have "entertainment" please consider that it will make most conversations impossible (happened to our last meeting in Irving).

Steve if you are going to take 150 as the average weight then you better add about 1/3 to the number of people...I make almost 2 of those and I am not the only one

Boys, One item we will not have to worry with is the weather next year. I have added a 42' x 20' canopy with side curtains to the rig so we can be outside, warm and dry. We will need to come up with a parking plan for all attendees.

Second item, I would like to see another photographer, my poster is so out of focus, I'm ashamed to frame it. I know some of you guys think DRP is great, well .......... maybe we should look around, there is better, much better. Later, db
