Terry,
Please post more info on the shop you're using for paint. I'm looking around right now so any info would be appreciated. Thx!

Paint Shop Info
I had Mark Evans at Lucas Restorations paint my car for me. Gregg & Mark had done a lot of work on my Vintage Racing Falcon (mechanical , paint & body) and so I wanted them to do the Cobra too.
The shop is here in Houston and Mark can be reached at 71-462-2670. However he is going to have surgery on a dislocated shoulder on November 25th. I think he will be out for about 5 weeks after that.
If you call him tell him you heard about him from me, OK?
Regards,
Terry
PS will someone tell me how to post pictures on this site...I don't have any trouble with ffrcobra.com but I can't seem to figure out how to post here.

"Uncle Joe",
Thanks for the compliments! I just added my Red FIA stripes on the drivers side today and will put the ones on the passengers side tomorrow. Should have some pictures to post of it completed on Monday or Tuesday.

falcon 65
awesome paint job
reminds me of Jim Clark's Lotus in the 60's.
i am about 60 hours from completion
although i feel this project is a bottomless piggybank and it will never be complete.
thanks to B&B for all their support
Slow Dawg, Karen et al have been super.
in retrospect, i wish i had purchased complete steering column and front end , rear end from B&B
i have re done them twice to make them right going the hard 8 way. i also re did the gauges as the donor gauges sucked.

Thanks Tom,
I did get the inspiration for my paint scheme from Jimmy Clark's Lotus...I saw it run in Europe in the 60's when I was stationed with the US Army in Germany.
I have almost always used the white with blue stripe for all my race cars in the past.
Hopefully this week I will have some more pictures to post showing the red FIA stripes.

"looks absolutely awesome

Thanks Tom!!
"i like the roll bar, is that a stock item?'
This is the stock FFR Spec Racer chassis that has to have a full roll cage in order to be race legal.
"is the fuel safe tank required to race?"
Yes is required by almost all sanctioning bodies to race.
"what class will you race in ? AP? GT1?"
Depends on the group we are racing with. SP or GT 1 in SCCA, Spec Class for FFR Spec Racers in NASA.
thanks Tom

Terry

thanks,
i hope Factory Five comes up with some generic spec rules so we can race with you. I have no problem with the roll bar or the fuel safe tank. i would like to see what some of the other cars could do against the FFR.

Tom,
FFR and NASA do have specific rules for the spec racing class. It has to be the spec racer chassis, stock 302 EFI engine, either a T-5 or Tremac 3550 tranny, 8.8 rear end with 2:73 gear ratio, Cobra R wheels 17 x 9" with Khumo 275/40 x 17 Victorracer Tires, stock 87-93 Mustang single piston caliper front brakes, and any 10.5 rotors with a single piston caliper for the rear disk brakes. Plus other misc. things that are in the LONG RULE book.
Unfortunatley the only way that I know that you could race another mfg. car against us would be in an open track event , SCCA event or autocross.
Regards,
Terry

Howdy all. I'm building a Factory Five Roadster. I think I'm working on the record for the longest FFR build as I started about 3 years ago. The car sat most of that time (moved, job, etc.) but I've been able to work on solid for the last month or so and should be able to keep going with interuption. I'm hoping to be on the road by spring.
Currently I'm detailing the 5.0L and getting it ready to put it in. I have heads and an intake coming next week so I'm pumped about that! After the motor, I'll be tackling wiring then body work so I still have a ways to go.
If I can tear myself away from building for an hour or so, I may stop by Champs Saturday and say hi.
Btw, Great pics Terry. Love the paint scheme.
Regards.
