Isn't driving these cars part of keeping the fantasy alive 
Putting the correct owner in them is probably worth something... this isn't like where you are at a restaurant and somebody makes the annoucement that somebody has left their lights on.. and everybody wonders who it was  Inquiring minds want to know and see PHYSICAL EVIDENCE.
To borrow a phrase from the late John Cochran: "If it doesn't fit we must acquit!"  I think that applies here.
