Spring meet: Who's driving? Who's towing?
About the trip to Austin. I was thinking about driving my SPF down from Dallas, caravaning with others. I know some have trailers, and a lot do not. JR mentioned about someone with a transport? Am I missing something?

I trailer. Most trailer, but with so many of you new guys with 'new cars/engines' there should be several of ya'll driving down, together.
I don't drive out of the metroplex.

Steve,
You're not missing anything. Some drive, others trailer. It's all a matter of personal choice. Gary mentioned that AER will bring their transporter and have it on display. In previous years, Bill Wages of AER has moved members cars in his rig to the meeting and back. Hope this helps clarify things a bit.

Steve,
I had a family function in Austin last fall and I drove Annie down. Amy followed in the Explorer. The sun was out and a baseball cap wouldn't stay on so I ended up throwing down a bandana do-rag look. (didn't have my aviator gear then) I brought my iPod so I had tunes.
I can say I did it, but I can't say I'll do it again. I adjusted my shocks all the way soft but the ride was still harsh. I was comfortable for the first 30 minutes, but then was a pretzel. The constant wind beating made me drowsy and my wrap-around glasses didn't keep the wind out of my eyes. Maybe the worst thing was the 100 (no joke) rock chips I got on the nose. The car really needs to be repainted afterwards. Shows worse with the black paint. I don't have the 3M on the nose but I will after the repaint.
I got plenty of highway thumbs up and I got 20.4 mpg, but I will probably trailer anything over 2 hours from now on.
Just my $.02

I am 90% sure I will be diving, again!
The way things seem to be working out is that John jr & I will be driving down again this year!
Bill Wages was kind enough to bring my car down twice, and Drew Baird and Gary Sharapata trailered it on year #3, so this will make my fifth drive to/from Austin for the TCC event!
Yep, I have a "few" rock chips, or battlescars, and I would imagine I will have a few more in the years to come...but I got this car to drive and I intend to do just that!
Shoot, I love to get this thing out on the road, it just seems like too many other things have gotten in the way lately since this is John's Senior year in High School, ahd he will (hopefully) be joining Lyndsie in Austin.
See ya'll on the road,
John Russell
