That is a dangerous game to try and play. She will win the cut off game every time. Damn that unfair advantage.

FSTFOX,

Advice from a BDR owner to a fellow BDR owner, I have been married far less than many on this site. If it wasn't for my wife I wouldn't be building these cars, I would be broke, more so than I'm now. Just last Sat. yes Sweetest Day. It was 17 years of happiness, just ask my wife she will tell you I'm happy. You won't get to think for yourself, and you will never know anything. I brought home my first car to restore, a 68 Z-28 RS, my only true love, she cried, you can't fix it, it is a bucket of bolts. Pretty much a basket case. I had it running in 3mos and painted in 4. Sold it because we were expecting. I don't know where I'm going with this.

If you are 100% sure she is the one, I'm here for you. But if not don't do it.

Bill

Patrick,

Good move that will probably enable you to live a lot longer.

Some of the things others have said are very true. The one thing they left out is you never talk about anything that happened or anyplace you went before Brandie. You're best answer when you forget a birthday, anneversary (your wedding anneversary is not the only one you will be celebrating you know?) or some special occassion is:

"I have planned a special night for this occassion for weeks to surprise you and you couldn't wait for the surprise tonight"...and no I didn't forget. I was just waiting on the right time! Hopefully, this conversation happens before 5:00 in the evening.

By the way that only works once or twice.

Good luck Patrick, if I lived closer I would join the parade.

Clois

Honestly, I have to say that I am probably the luckiest guy when it comes to my wife. I actually spend more money than she does. She is more of a necessities kind of person. I like the toys more. She only has a few things that she wants, and she has given up a lot for me to get the things I want. She now has the more expensive vehicle (2007 F150 SuperCrew), but that is something that she has wanted pretty much the whole time we have been married (12 years). When I told her that I wanted to build a Cobra, she said that I can't finance any part of it until we pay off at least 1 of the 2 cars and pay off the furniture that we bought. I figured that was fair, since my car has 3 years to pay off and the furniture will be paid off in a year. In the meantime, I have created a Cobra fund and am slowly putting money into it. By the time I get those items paid off, I will have a large chunk of money set aside for this, and may not end up financing anything. She supports me in all my projects/toys, even if she doesn't like them.

Well I know some of ya'll have the typical joking comment about marriage but I know she is the one, we have a great open relationship and she is not to needy, she does however want a Z4 or a 350Z, Since I paid cash for the Cobra, and don't owe a lot on my King Ranch we should be able to get her a Z4 on or shortly after the wedding or who knows maybe before the wedding. She supports me on my toys and hobbies just asked if she is sick to stay home and take care of her, but she will be with me at most of the events, already told her about the toy drive, Austin and The Shelby nationals.

Sounds like a keeper. Trina will not come to most events, and likely will only be at a luncheon or 2, but she knows that I enjoy it, so she doesn't mind. The only real requirement she lays on me is that I can't use money that is needed for bills/house repair/etc... That is where the "can't finance it until..." comes from. I also can't take time that needs to be used for house repairs/etc... I agree with all of that, those priorities have to come first, so no issue for me.

all my clothes match the cobra... or the stang.... or the 500.....
but my lingerie is all girl.

good advice here, Patrick. Heed it ALL. especially 'what's mine is mine and what's yours is mine'. (not what's yours is ours) hehehe. Looking forward to being part of your engagement.

Do you know when???

Bit breezy today, but a nice day for a drive in the stang.

LMAO. That is awesome. Just to mess with her, you should just show up at KC one day and when she asks what you are doing there, just tell her, I am signing us up for the gift registry.
