GlynMeek
Glyn, Since you are involved or at least know the people at the track what do you think their response would be to slow pace cars laps (under 30 MPH)? I totally understand and agreed 100%, the reason they don't want people on their track with unknown experience. But what I think most are asking for is a tour of the place. You never know who the customer is until they buy, good opportunity to show their product. If you would like for me to call, I'll be happy to talk to anyone. BTW did you ever work at Dell? Maybe the head of IT. db

OMG...Don Barnes! Is this THE Don Barnes who was also at Dell??????
YES, I was Dell's first real CIO from 1989 through about 1992 when that w@nker Tom Thomas arrived...LOL. Bill Dolahite, who owns the track, was the guy who drove the Dell racecar during the mid 90s and then went on to drive the Compaq racecar, and then drove for "Coach", Craig T Nelson!
Make sure we find one another. When will you be there on Thursday?
Glyn

Larry count me in on the parade lap, things are getting down to the wire and may not be able to go full throttle with this new motor and the break in period I need to have, plus KCM still needs to dyno tune her to make sure everything is right after a couplehundred miles

Guys...a full scale Driving Event next year would be perfect...! What a nice addition to your schedule...! I surely hope you can pull this off...I'd sure be interested in it, and I know others would, too! You've got the right idea here, Glyn...
Sign me up for the DE next year...and I'll certainly participate in a drive around this year, too... but...ah...who's got a car that'll stay under 30 mph on ANY track...? Certainly not #770...

BwaaaHAHAHAHAHA!
You may be right, Don....but if I have to get on the sidewalk to hit that apex, then that's just what has to be done...
I even apex turns with the grocery cart when we go grocery shopping! My wife hates it when I go shopping with her...
...just like I planned it....

Driveway Austin -Friday afternoon
For those of you who want to pay a visit to the Driveway Austin track on Friday afternoon, here's what I have arranged with Bill Dolahite, the track owner...
12:30 UNTIL APPROXIMATELY 2:00 LUNCH AT THE OASIS
2:00 TO 2:45 TRAVEL TO DRIVEWAY AUSTIN (it's about 24 miles from The Oasis, over towards Austin Airport. Quite close to I35 for the drive back to The Marriott afterwards. I have printed up 40 or so maps and instructions from The Oasis to The Driveway, and since no-one knows me from a bar of soap, I will get them to Dee Walters on Thursday so you can pick up a map from Dee)
2:30 TO 3:30 RECEPTION AND REGISTRATION
3:30 TO 4:00 OVERVIEW OF FACILITY AND FUTURE PLANS
4:00 TO 5:00 TRACK WALK AND BRIEFING
5:00 TO 5:30 PACE LAP TOUR OF FULLTRACK AND POSSIBLE PHOTO OPS
5:30 - 6:00 FUN 2 LAP SOLO COMPETITION ON THE 'SHORT TRACK' ( go look at www.drivewayaustin.com for a description of the tracks...AND there is another map of how to get there on the Contact Us page, if you don't get to pick up one of mine)
6:00 OR WHENEVER, RETURN TO THE MARRIOTT
This schedule is VERY flexible, as Bill is basically giving us his time for the afternoon. NO FORMAL CHARGE, but we'll put out a 'collection hat' if anyone wants to drop $20 bills (or more... )in to pay for his time and for setting up a fun little competition that afternoon!
I told Bill we might have 15 or so of us who want to go down there, but there is NO real limit if there are more or less.
Glyn

I have been well. Very busy with family and work. Boys are now 6 and almost 4. Christie and the boys will be around on Friday and Saturday in Austin.
As far the car goes... I did recently buy another car, it's a '69 Mustang, not a Cobra. Needed something with a backseat. I am planning on driving it to Austin on Thursday. Since it has a Keith Craft motor, it's heart is Cobra. I hope I can at least follow the pack on Saturday.

Well Tice keeps bring all kinds of other things and we keep letting him play. But not get too close. At least you've got the Keith Craft motor. In my mind, that trumps whatever that GT500 has in it.

New Superformance Dealer - Austin
This is my 1st year attending the TCC Austin Spring Meet. I am expanding my Superformance Dealership from Colorado to the Austin area. I absolutely love this area. I will have a couple SPF MKIII's with me. One of which is being completed in Colorado right now w/ one of Shelby's NEW Aluminum Windsor blocks and should be here by Saturday.
Please introduce yourself: I don't know any local car people yet.
Look for the "427 Legends" - "Legendary Motorsport" trailer.
